Print-and-play board game

Backyard Adventure Trail

This quick game is my go-to when kids need movement but I need a calm plan. Print the trail, grab a die or the number cards, and let little adventurers hop, stretch, and count their way to the finish.

Ages 3-710-15 minutesIndoor or outdoor
Tip: card stock makes the pieces sturdier.

Setup

  • Print the trail board and the token page.
  • Cut out 1-4 tokens and the number cards (or use a die).
  • Place all tokens on Start.

How to play

  • Each player rolls a die or draws a number card.
  • Move that many spaces and do the action on the square.
  • First player to Finish wins.

Quick variations

  • Easy: Use only the 1-3 number cards.
  • Co-op: Everyone tries to reach Finish together.
  • Extra: Let kids add one new action to a blank square.
