Shape Builder Challenge Cards

These cards turn any basket of blocks, buttons, or coins into a quick pattern-building game. Draw a card, copy the pattern, and compare. It's a simple way to practice spatial awareness without feeling like a worksheet.

Tip: keep a small tray of loose parts nearby.

Setup

Print both pages of cards.
Cut along the solid lines to make 24 cards.
Gather 10-15 loose parts (blocks, coins, buttons, or paper circles).

How to play

Draw a card and place it in the center.
Kids copy the pattern using their loose parts.
Check the pattern together and swap to a new card.

Quick variations

Easy: Use just the first page and copy with one shape at a time.
Memory: Show the card for 10 seconds, then hide it.
Co-op: One person describes the pattern while the other builds.
