Print-and-play board game

Alphabet Trail Dice Game

When we need a quick, low-prep literacy game, this is the one I grab. Roll, move, and say a word for the letter you land on. It's simple, gentle, and keeps kids talking and giggling without a screen.

Ages 3-810-15 minutesLow prep
Tip: keep a pencil nearby for tricky letters.

Setup

  • Print the board and the token page.
  • Cut out 1-4 tokens and grab a die.
  • Place all tokens on Start.

How to play

  • Roll the die and move that many spaces.
  • Say a word that starts with the letter on your square.
  • First player to Finish wins.

Quick variations

  • Easy: Say the letter name instead of a word.
  • Harder: Use a timer and name two words per letter.
  • Co-op: Everyone tries to reach Finish together.
